Our Story

Our journey began with a love of music. The head technician, Sam Lewis, embarked on his musical path at age 14, picking up the guitar and eventually pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Wright State University. During this time, his passion for music led him to explore the world of piano tuning, repair, and rebuilding. He diligently studied at the renowned Randy Potter School of Piano Technology and received invaluable mentorship from esteemed figures in the field, including Jack Hamilton, former President of the Master Piano Technicians, and Tim Upton, former Vice President of the same organization.

fueled by his dedication and expertise, Sam established Springboro Piano Services in 2007, serving the Dayton and Cincinnati areas with unwavering commitment. Recognizing the need for exceptional piano care in new markets, he expanded his reach, co-founding Apex Piano Network with his close friend, Todd Anderson, in 2014. Today, Apex Piano stands as the highest-rated piano tuning company in Dayton, Ohio, while Sam himself is recognized as the highest-rated piano technician in Nashville, Tennessee.
