Our school is more than just a place to learn music; it's a vibrant community where students, faculty, and families come together to share their passion for music. We offer lessons on nearly every instrument, including voice, guitar, bass, drums, piano, horns, woodwinds, and strings. Our spacious facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and technology, ensuring that our students have access to the best resources available.

At Music University, we understand the importance of creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Each of our 12 private instruction rooms is designed to provide students with a personalized learning experience. From grand pianos in every studio to top-of-the-line drum sets and modern amps in our guitar rooms, we have everything our students need to succeed.

Faculty and Students: A Winning Team

Our faculty members are not only experienced teachers but also working musicians who perform regularly. They have attended prestigious music schools such as Juilliard, Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Westminster Choir College, among others. This diverse background of styles, experiences, and education allows them to provide our students with a comprehensive understanding of music.

Many of our students have achieved great success, performing in competitions at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Philadelphia's Kimmel Center. Vocal students have sung the national anthem at Madison Square Garden, Giants Stadium, Newark's Prudential Center, Red Bulls Arena, the NJ Golden Gloves Championships, and numerous other stadiums. They have also been contestants on American Idol, The Voice, and America's Got Talent.

Our rock bands have performed at Bamboozle, Warped Tour, Six Flags, and Skate and Surf Festival, as well as sharing the stage with popular bands like Big Time Rush, Jacob Whitesides, and Jake Miller. They regularly perform at local clubs including The Stone Pony, Starland Ballroom, The Bitter End, as well as numerous state and local fairs.

Performance Opportunities: Taking Center Stage

At Music University, we believe that performance is an essential part of the learning process. That's why we offer numerous performance opportunities throughout the year. Piano and voice recitals are held twice a year, and participation is encouraged but not required. Student concerts are also held throughout the year at festivals, fairs, rock clubs, charity functions, malls, and numerous other venues and events. Rock bands, Glee, soloists, and duos perform regularly throughout the year, giving our students the chance to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience.

Our Bookstore: Your One-Stop Music Shop

Our bookstore specializes in music for beginning and intermediate students, as well as the newest titles from Hal Leonard and Alfred Publishing. Vocalists will find all the top pop and Broadway music scores, as well as audition and performance pieces. With our digital retailer, students can instantly download selections and print them at the school, making it easier than ever to access the music they need.

Music Departments: Explore Your Musical Side

Music University offers a variety of departments designed to cater to different interests and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting out, we have something for everyone.

• Piano Department: With grand pianos in every studio, students learn from some of the most experienced teachers in New Jersey. The faculty represent a diverse background of styles, experiences, and education. Students will achieve a high level of note reading and chord playing skills, using musical styles that appeal to them. We have an extensive collection of "easy piano" selections for students to learn on, as well as a 25,000 song database to draw from.

• School of Guitar/Bass: Students can learn guitar or bass using several different learning styles, including traditional notation, tablature, and ear training. Acoustic or electric studies are available, and smaller sized guitars are available for the younger students. As students advance, they are given the opportunity to try out for our Rock Band classes. Songwriting and music recording is also available for advancing students.

• Charlie Brown Rock Star University: Not only do the bands rehearse regularly every week, but they perform throughout the area, use social media to promote their band, have photo shoots, write and record songs, develop their own arrangements of current and classic songs, learn how to set up their own shows, and much more. This unique program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to be a successful musician.
