A Different Way to Learn the Piano
I have been a passionate piano teacher and performer for over four decades, sharing my love of music with others since childhood. My journey began at the tender age of seven when I first sat at a piano. The magic of music immediately captivated me, and I began sharing that joy with friends and family by offering free piano lessons even while still in high school. Driven by my enthusiasm, I pursued college-level music courses at a local music conservatory during my high school years. This early immersion in the world of music set the stage for my future.
Upon graduating high school, I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to continue my studies at that same conservatory. There, I delved deeply into the art of music, double-majoring in piano and voice and earning a Bachelor of Music degree. My dedication and talent led me to a rewarding career that encompassed both teaching and performing.
I dedicated several years to teaching music in the public school system, nurturing young minds and igniting their passion for music. Concurrently, I embarked on a fulfilling musical collaboration with my husband, a talented bass player. We formed a band, bringing our shared love of music to audiences, and creating beautiful harmonies together.
My Educational Journey
Beyond my Bachelor of Music degree, my thirst for knowledge and musical growth led me to pursue further academic exploration. I continued my studies, earning my doctorate in music education. This rigorous program allowed me to expand my understanding of pedagogy, musical theory, and the intricacies of learning and teaching music. My doctoral studies provided me with an in-depth understanding of how people learn music, allowing me to develop innovative and effective teaching methods.
