Pete Giuliani is a professional guitar teacher and performer who has been serving the Durango, Colorado area for over three decades. With a student-centered approach, Pete creates a relaxed and fun learning environment in his home studio located in the beautiful Animas Valley. He welcomes students of all ages and is proficient in various musical styles, including Rock, Blues, Metal, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Country, and Bluegrass. Pete's state-of-the-art teaching studio comes equipped with a large music library and a project studio for audio recording.
Lessons
Pete Giuliani has been teaching guitar for over 25 years and offers private in-home lessons using his unique and innovative teaching style. He is a full-time teacher and performer who continuously invests in his students. His teaching methodology is influenced by his years of practicing Iyengar Yoga and Buddhist meditation, as well as PSIA ski coaching. He offers lessons in guitar, vocal, bass, and various other music instruments.
Music
Pete's music is rooted in his study of classical guitar and his love for various musical styles, including Rock, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, and World Music. His early influences include Bach and The Beatles, but his exposure to progressive rock bands such as Yes, Genesis, and ELP ignited his passion for the guitar. Fusion artists such as Al DiMeola, Jean-Luc Ponty, and John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra provided further early inspiration. Pete's contemporary influences include John Mayer, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, and Dream Theater, among others. He currently performs as the lead guitarist and vocalist for The Pete Giuliani Band, an Acoustic/Electric group that showcases infectious grooves, playful improvisations, and creative interpretations of cover songs.

Pete's Journey
Pete Giuliani grew up in an old colonial home in Newtown Square, PA, near Philadelphia. At a young age, he was introduced to choral music, the clarinet, and fell in love with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He took up the guitar at age 12 and became a serious student of the instrument while in high school. Pete attended Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and studied classical guitar for fun. Upon graduation, Pete embarked on a career in hotels when he moved to Durango, Colorado. Eventually, he decided to pursue his love of music full time. He began teaching guitar to a few students while working at Katzin Music in Durango and continued teaching there while he pursued his love of skiing, climbing, and whitewater as an instructor and guide. Along the way, he performed as both a solo artist and with several Durango bands. Now, Pete Giuliani is a full-time music teacher and performer, sharing his love of music with students and audiences alike.
