Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery has been teaching the art of guitar making and repair for over 40 years. Our institution is dedicated to providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the industry. With a reputation for excellence, our school has produced many talented and successful luthiers who have gone on to establish their own companies and contribute to the advancement of the craft.
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate and train the next generation of guitar makers and repair technicians. We are committed to providing a comprehensive education that covers the entire process of guitar making, from design and construction to setup and maintenance. Our experienced instructors are all professionals in the industry, with years of experience in guitar making and repair.
Our Services
At Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, we offer a range of courses and programs designed to meet the needs of students of all levels. Our comprehensive programs include:
Guitar Making and Repair Courses
- Five-month accredited course that covers the basics of guitar making and repair
- 10-week intensive repair course that prepares students for a career in guitar repair
- Specialty classes in pickup winding, tube amp design, and electronic effect pedal construction
Financial Aid and Student Aid
We understand that pursuing a career in guitar making and repair can be costly. That's why we offer financial aid and veteran's benefits to those who qualify. Our financial aid package includes:
- PELL Grant: a direct funding program available to students who demonstrate financial need
- Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans: low-interest loans available to students to cover education expenses
- Veterans benefits: available to eligible veterans who served in the military
