Your Trusted Violin Shop in Oklahoma City Since 1954
Inter-City Violin Studios has been Oklahoma's premier destination for orchestral string instruments since 1954. Founded by Herbert and Peggy Bagwell in a small room behind their home, we relocated to our current Oklahoma City location in 1956 with a mission to make quality instruments accessible to every family. Our three-generation family legacy continues through Dena Bagwell and her team, who maintain our commitment to fostering music education through rentals, sales, and repairs. We pioneered rent-to-own programs that allow students to transition to ownership while maintaining academic discipline. Our full-service luthier shop employs trained professionals from the University of New Hampshire Violin Craftsman Institute, and we've expanded to offer private studio spaces for musicians. With 59 years of experience, we specialize in violin, viola, cello, and bass rentals starting at $25/month, all teacher-approved and fully maintained. Our Wood Violins dealership provides custom electric instruments crafted in America, alongside traditional acoustic options. We organize statewide music workshops and summer camps in partnership with institutions like the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University. Our transparent pricing includes all maintenance with no hidden fees, and we operate by appointment to ensure personalized service. This dedication to music as a transformative academic discipline has made us a trusted community resource for generations of musicians.
