Playing A Brass Instrument Is A Blast

At FoothillBrass, we are dedicated to providing high-quality brass instrument lessons to students of all ages and abilities. As a seasoned music teacher with over 35 years of experience, I, Angie Baca, have had the privilege of teaching trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, and tuba to students from the La Crescenta, La Canada, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, and Los Angeles areas.

My Background

With a Bachelor of Music degree from San Diego State University and a Master's in Trumpet Performance from the University of Southern California, I have had the opportunity to perform with various orchestras, including the Westchester-Marina Del Mar, Peninsula, Carson, Nasung, Rio Hondo, and San Diego Symphony Orchestras. I have also performed in festivals such as the Fairbanks, Batiquitos, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen Music Festivals. My teaching experience includes private lessons, trumpet instructor at Cerritos College, and brass and music theory instructor at CSUSB Music Conservatory.

Services

At FoothillBrass, we offer a range of services to help you achieve your brass instrument goals. Our private lessons are tailored to your individual needs, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player. We also offer performance opportunities throughout the year, including our Summer Pops Recital, Our Holiday Performance, and the July Ensemble Games.

Performance Opportunities

Our Summer Pops Recital is an annual event where students perform solos and in small ensembles, culminating in a grand finale brass choir featuring all students. Our Holiday Performance is a seasonal tradition where students play Christmas carols for the Crescenta Valley community, often accompanied by an audience sing-along. In the summer, we also participate in the July Ensemble Games, where students play together in new and challenging musical experiences.

Student Success

Many of our students have gone on to participate in prestigious music programs and performances, including the GUSD Honors Orchestra, Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra, Glendale Youth Orchestra, Verdugo Young Musicians Association, Tournament of Roses Honor Band, and All-State and Southern California Honor Bands.
