For over four decades, Maple Street Guitars has been dedicated to spreading the love of music and the guitar. Founded in 1981 by George and Claire Petsch, our family-owned business has grown to become a premier destination for guitar enthusiasts of all levels. From the beginner looking for guidance to the seasoned musician seeking a new instrument, we strive to serve the needs of players at all levels by maintaining the highest standards of quality in every aspect of our business.

Our Story

George and Claire's passion for music began in the 1970s while working at John Sutherland's House of Guitars in Atlanta. As aspiring classical guitarists, they met and fell in love, and after George completed his music performance degree at the University of Georgia, they opened Atlanta Guitar Center. The business quickly grew, and the couple expanded their operations to include retail sales of classical guitars, strings, and sheet music. As their student body grew, so did their reputation for exceptional customer service and expert advice.
