Ethos

Ethos is a non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to the belief that all children deserve access to the benefits of music education. We strive to make music education accessible to everyone, regardless of their location or economic status. Our programs include sliding scale music lessons at our headquarters in North Portland and music outreach programs for students in underserved rural and urban areas across Oregon.

Our Services

At Ethos, we offer a range of services designed to make music education accessible and enjoyable for all. These services include:

• Sliding Scale Music Lessons: At our headquarters in North Portland, we offer individual and group music lessons on a sliding scale basis. This means that the cost of lessons is based on a family's ability to pay, ensuring that music education is accessible to all.
• Music Corps: Our Music Corps program provides after-school group lessons in schools throughout Portland. These lessons are designed to reach students who may not have access to music education otherwise.
• Rural Outreach Project: Our Rural Outreach Project places full-time music instructors in the classroom in Oregon's rural communities. This ensures that students in rural areas have access to music education, even in areas where resources may be limited.
• Pass the Mic: Our newest program, Pass the Mic, is headquartered in NE Portland and provides music education to immigrant youth. This program is designed to be culturally responsive and to meet the unique needs of immigrant students.
