Faber Piano Institute

At the Faber Piano Institute, we are dedicated to excellence in piano studies for students of all ages, from 4 to 94. Our team of highly qualified and enthusiastic piano instructors guide each student through a customized learning adventure, tailored to their unique needs and goals. Our innovative curriculum is centered around the Piano Adventures teaching method, which offers a comprehensive and engaging approach to piano study.

Our Expert Instructors

Our instructors are highly qualified and passionate about teaching piano. With a range of educational backgrounds and extensive performance experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. Led by our Director, J. Amber Kao, our instructors have the skills and passion to inspire and mentor students of all ages and skill levels. Our instructors are:

• Veena Kulkarni-Rankin, Lead Instructor and a Doctor of Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Michigan.
• Jon Ophoff, Director of Production and Technology at Faber Piano Adventures and a clinician in the effective use of publications in studios across the US and Canada.
• J. Amber Kao, Director of the Faber Piano Institute and a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan School of Music.
• Justin Snyder, a multidisciplinary artist and advocate of collaboration, with experience in performance and choreography.
• Lois Kim, a Doctor of Musical Arts degree holder from the University of Michigan and a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.

Our Facilities

Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to enhance the piano-study experience, with soundproofed studios, digital ensemble rooms, state-of-the-art instruments, and a 100-seat performance hall. We also partner with the community to foster musical experiences outside of the studio, providing opportunities for students to perform and collaborate with other musicians.
