Seattle Girls' Choir

Our Story

Founded in 1982, the Seattle Girls Choir (SGC) empowers young singers in the Seattle area to discover their voices and develop their musical talent. We provide a supportive and inclusive environment where girls learn to express themselves through the power of music. With over 200 members across various age groups, SGC fosters a close-knit community of musicians who share a love for music and performance.

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

• Provide young singers with a high-quality music education emphasizing vocal technique, musical literacy, and ensemble performance.
• Develop confident and well-rounded musicians who can express themselves through music.
• Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters friendships and celebrates individual growth.

What We Offer

SGC offers a diverse range of programs for children and teenagers, including:

• Three choirs: Our training choir for beginning singers, a contemporary choir for teens, and our flagship choir, Voices, for more experienced singers.
• Prep Choir: A unique program for young children to explore vocal development through games, songs, and movement.
• Day Camps: Summer and winter camps provide intensive musical experiences for young singers.
• Auditions: Open auditions are held throughout the year for new members.
• Concerts and Performances: SGC regularly performs throughout the community, showcasing the talents of our young musicians.
