I've been working with Chris for the past few months, and he has really challenged me to learn more complex strum patterns, new chords, and singing as I play. In the beginning, I didn't think my brain would be able to comprehend everything, but here we are. Chris is extremely patient (I'm a true beginner) and has been flexible with my schedule when needed. He brings the structure to learning guitar that I need, and I feel like I've truly progressed in the time I've been taking lessons.

I have been taking lessons from Primeau Guitar for a few months and can't recommend him enough. His lesson plans are well thought out and cater to each individuals' needs. I have learned and progressed more in these last few months than in the years I struggled trying to teach myself. If you are interested in learning the guitar, or need some help getting back in to it, please give Primeau Guitar a shot!

Chris is a very dedicated teacher. He's the intentional guy "making a career" out of teaching people how to play, not just as a side hustle. Even his field of study is about how to do just that! He is very flexible re the direction of instruction -- I have asked him to pursue different things at different times and he is always willing to pivot and give me what I need at the time. Show-up without a request, or with something specific you need to learn, you're in good hands. Plus, he figures-out songs faster than anyone I've seen, it's amazing. He's solid -- that's why you'll likely have to wait to get it! Cheers and blessings!

I've been taking lessons with Chris and I couldn't be happier. He knows his stuff when it comes to music and theory, and he explains concepts in a clear and easy-to-understand way. His teaching method is well-organized, following a structure, which helps a lot in learning and making progress. I highly recommended his class for anyone looking to improve their guitar skills!

We started working with Chris about 6 months ago. Our son is 10 and was really interested in learning to play guitar. We have two kids and trying to navigate all the activities made it difficult to find a place that was flexible on days and times with our schedule. We did some research and found Chris online and all the reviews were stellar. Im happy to report after 6 months of lessons that the reviews were spot on. Chris has been an amazing teacher. He has been extremely patient with our beginner guitar player. He makes the lessons fun and engaging for him and he looks forward to his lessons every week.

Chris is a great instructor. He explains topics in a clear and methodical manner, and is patient as you work these items out during the lesson. He has great supplemental material to go along with the lesson (song charts, scale charts, etc.) as well, which isn't always a given.

I play drums, piano, and guitar, and have had many teachers with each, and I can confidently say that Chris is a top tier teacher. He covers all of the bases (theory, scale practice, improv, transcription, etc.), and will ensure you develop a well-rounded skillset. You won't be disappointed.

My 13-year-old daughter has been taking lessons with Chris for over a year now and loves it! She didnt know much about guitar at all when she first started and now shes especially skilled with her rhythm, can now sing while she plays and plays in school chapels and events regularly thanks to the help she receives from Chris. Shes learned a lot about chords and how to play songs she enjoys, not just following a rigid formula. Im amazed at how much my daughter has excelled in such a short time period! He is really great at adapting to whatever skill level you are at and listens to what your preferences/needs are. Hes flexible with what fits your schedule too! Highly recommend!

I was taking lessons at a bigger chain place in town and really wasnt feeling the instruction there for how much it cost. I ended up looking around to find new lessons and found Chris. I enjoy that we dive right into the lesson and get the most out of a session. Also, youre always going to be learning from Chris. There are no substitute instructors that have no idea of your progress or where you are in your learning which was one of the more frustrating parts of the last place I was learning.

The methodology Chris uses to teach beginners keeps you very engaged too. Im sure its different for every student depending on skill level and aptitude, but Ive really enjoyed getting into learning music from the first lesson and peppering fundamentals and music theory in between learning new songs. Ive gotten a lot better since starting here and am hope to continue that progress to be good in the future!

I've worked with several different music teachers over the years, and Chris is by far my favorite! He is patient and thorough, as well as attentive to my learning goals and musical preferences. I've made much more substantial progress during my six months of lessons with Chris than I have in fifteen years of watching YouTube videos on my own, in part because he knows exactly how much to challenge me in order to motivate me to practice during the week.

Logistically speaking, I appreciate the flexibility of being able to meet in person or online, and it's easy to reschedule lessons if necessary. I highly recommend his studio!

I spent 3 years trying to teach myself how to play guitar from Youtube videos, and while I may have been able to pick up the basics, I have progressed more over the past 6 months of taking lessons with Chris than over those years, as well as worked out some bad habits that I developed. Chris is professional, patient, and an expert at what he does. If you want lessons that cater to your goals and a teacher to get you there, you won't be disappointed with Chris Primeau.

Chris is an absolutely phenomenal teacher! I started taking lessons in March, completely online, and as a complete beginner, and it still felt like we made so much progress each week. I'm really happy with how many different songs, chords, and strumming patterns we learned!

Im an adult beginner and Im far more accustomed to keyboarding on a computer than playing guitar. Chris is very patient and selects music that is challenging and enjoyable but not overwhelming. Now that my kids are a little older, I wanted to learn guitar, which has been life-long dream. Chris makes this experience possible. Oh and if you are wondering, yes, I did start the guitar by downloading play guitar apps. But I couldnt advance past a few basic lessons. Working with Chris, Im making great progress. He is an excellent teacher.

Ive been receiving lessons from Chris for a little over a year now and my experience has been nothing but pleasant, productive, and personalized. Chris is extremely understanding and effective in his teaching style and I feel that I have grown greatly in my time learning from him. I am so glad to have him as a teacher and would urge anyone reading this to get in contact with him ASAP.

I've been taking lessons from Chris for several years now. We started at ground zero and pretty quickly worked up to playing and singing songs that I enjoy. I once went into a local guitar shop to get a setup done on my guitar and when I said who I was taking lessons from, they said, "oh Chris, yeah he knows what he's doing." You'll enjoy learning from Chris. And he keeps lessons right on schedule so you won't have to wait past your time slot.

The basics; he's easy to schedule with. Great location (for me anyway). His set-up is great. And most of all, it's obvious that he really enjoys what he's doing. And, that's teaching...

He's an accomplished musician, who seems like he truly wants to share his knowledge and help his students learn to play - which certainly makes it fun for me! I tend to want to learn everything at once - and Chris has been great at keeping me focused and learning proper practice habits.

* I decided to pick up playing guitar (Electric of course!) in my late 40's...having never played an instrument in my life. How hard can it be, right? So I got online, and off I went...trying to figure it out. Eventually though, (almost 3 years later) I realized that I wasn't really progressing as much as I wanted. So, why not contact Chris and see what he's about...can't hurt!?

Now it's been a full year of lessons later - Three things stand out to me;
1) I wish I would've picked up the guitar earlier...
2) I wish I would've contacted Chris straight away when I first picked up the guitar!
3) I've learned so much more in the past year than the previous 3 years, it's not even close.

Anyway, I don't write many reviews, but felt compelled to speak up this time. Do yourself a favor and contact Chris if you're wanting to learn(and/or advance) your playing skills. You'll be happy you did ~

I highly recommend Chris Primeau as a guitar instructor! He is knowledgeable, talented, patient and friendly. He tailors each lesson to guide a person toward their personal guitar learning goals. I have had 7 months of lessons with Chris so far and I am a true beginner but am playing songs and singing along with them, as I had hoped to do. Chris is great!!

I have been taking lessons from Chris since I was in the 7th grade. My lessons with him have not only grown my skills on the guitar, but also theory, rhythm and overall musicianship in a way that would not be achievable without such a mentor. I am now going to college and the skills he taught have provided me entry to every university I have applied for. The things he has taught me have proven to be invaluable when working in the studio, with other musicians, or even with entirely separate instruments. He provides not only a technical understanding of the guitar, but a full fundamental understanding of music. I am very grateful to have had Chris as my guitar teacher for these past years.

I started guitar lessons with Chris Primeau as a complete beginner. After six months of his thoughtful and well-designed curriculum combined with his patient encouragement, Im pretty much playing the songs I love.

Im sure I dont begin to appreciate the extent of his guitar skills. I do know a lot about teaching, and Chris is a gifted teacherprofessional, innovative, enthusiastic, organized, knowledgeable.

I highly recommend him.

Prior to taking lessons with Chris, I had been self-taught for over 15 years with some sporadic instruction here and there. Coming from a classical piano background, I already had a good understanding of music theory and decent dexterity. Unfortunately, I had also developed several bad habits and had many gaps in my understanding of the instrument.

Chris's instruction has transformed me from someone who "plays the guitar" to someone who truly understands the instrument and its potential. In about 18 months of lessons my playing in terms of both technique and creativity are significantly improved, and I'm on the road to becoming the guitar player I've always wanted to be.

Talented, organized, positive and kind: these are just a few of the words I would use to describe Chris Primeau. Chris has been my daughters guitar teacher for 2 years. He is very patient with her, always on time and organized, always trying to find a balance between the type of music she wants to play and the kind of music she should be playing to get to the next level. Chris has brought a lot of joy to her life with his encouragement in not just playing others music, but starting to write her own. He is easy to work with as a parent, also. In the last 8 months we have upgraded to hour-long lessons to work on both theory and her current songs. Chris has a knack of keeping her involved the entire time, which can still be difficult for a 9 year old. I cannot imagine a better learning experience for my daughter!
For the last year I have been taking guitar lessons from Chris, also. Doing it more for a creative outlet and to help my failing memory than any sort of talent, Chris is great with me also. Patient and positive, even when I play like crap or havent had time to practice; I feel like he meets me at my level of commitment and speed without judgment or frustration. I recommend Chris wholeheartedly for any age or level of guitar instruction.

Chris has done a wonderful job with both of our boys. They hadn't taken any music lessons of any sort before starting with Chris last fall, and he has them not only reading music, but also "having fun" with playing tunes they recognize. The summer recital was an excellent example of his broad range of students, showing a high degree of accomplishment for all of the children, regardless of age. Chris has a positive, easy-going personality which relaxes our boys, but at the same time motivates them to try their hardest. I'd strongly recommend Chris for guitar lessons- both acoustic and electric- for any one, any age.

Chris Primeau is an excellent guitar instructor! At age 55, I am starting life over and wanted to pursue my long lost desire to play guitar. I had taken lessons as a teenager but even with countless hours of practice, never improved beyond beginner level. After just a few lessons with Chris, I have already surpassed my teenage skill level by far. I had tried another guitar instructor before finding Chris, but I much prefer Chris' teaching style. It's so much fun to practice popular songs rather than just playing scales or nursery school songs. I highly recommend Chris to anyone who wants to learn guitar or improve their current skills.

I started to play the guitar when i was in the fourth grade, and after playing with a few different teachers i gave up on guitar for about two years. but about a year ago i decided to play again and i stared with Chris, and i feel like i have learned more with him in one year than i have in the other 4 years i played. he is an amazing teacher that is well versed in multiple styles of playing (including acoustic, electric, and classical) and can teach all of those i just listed above. all in all i would recommend him to anyone who asked where to learn guitar, either professionally or for recreation.
