Dance Classes
We offer comprehensive dance instruction for ages 2 through adult, covering ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and modern styles. Our classes develop technical skill, artistic expression, and physical fitness while fostering creativity and self-confidence. Students benefit from experienced instructors and a supportive learning environment that celebrates individual progress and group collaboration.
Tumbling Lessons
Our tumbling program builds strength, flexibility, and coordination through progressive skill development. Certified instructors teach proper technique for rolls, cartwheels, handsprings, and advanced aerial maneuvers in a safe, encouraging environment. Classes accommodate all skill levels from beginners to competitive athletes seeking performance enhancement through controlled, structured training.
Music Instruction
We provide one-on-one music lessons for piano, guitar, and voice with professional musicians who have decades of industry experience. Our instructors tailor lessons to individual learning styles and musical interests while emphasizing technical proficiency and musical theory. Summer Camps
Our summer camps combine arts & crafts, themed activities, and performing arts elements in a fun, engaging format. Competitive Dance Team
North Florida Dance Center offers competitive dance opportunities for serious students through auditions. Team members participate in regional competitions and community performances while developing discipline, teamwork, and advanced technical skills. Lorna Edwards
Studio Owner & Dance Instructor
Lorna has danced professionally since age 4 with Columbia City Ballet and Noise Complaint tap company. She holds an Associate's degree in Arts and specializes in multiple dance disciplines including ballet, tap, and contemporary styles.
Alexis Najarro-Booth
Marketing Manager
A former recording artist with Melting Pop Records, Alexis holds a degree in Musical Theatre and certification in Music Production. She brings extensive performance experience from international projects and professional theater productions.
Eri McWilliams
Dance Instructor
Eri has over 10 years of teaching experience in jazz, ballet, and modern dance. A certified Simonson Modern Jazz instructor, she trained at Japanese Women's Junior College and performed with New York dance companies.
Erin Wilson
Acro Instructor
Erin trained at Asbury Arts since age 3 and performed in St. Augustine Ballet productions. She is pursuing a BA in Early Childhood Education while teaching dance and serving as university dance team co-captain.
James Heeney
Ballet Teacher
James trained at Ballet Chicago and performed with multiple professional companies including American Swiss Ballet. He brings expertise in Balanchine techniques and neo-classical ballet instruction to our program.
Questions
When do your dance sessions begin and end?
Our Fall session runs August 11 - June 7, and Summer session lasts 6-8 weeks starting mid-June.
Do I need to enroll separately for each session?
Yes, Summer and Fall Sessions require separate enrollment. Current members don't need to re-enroll for Fall.
How are students placed in dance classes?
We initially place students by age, then instructors evaluate skill level during the first class for appropriate leveling.
What dance attire is required for classes?
Class attire requirements are listed in the 'Group Classes' tab. You can purchase through Discount Dance Supply or local Jacksonville/St. Augustine stores.
What happens if a student misses a class?
Missed group classes can be made up in same-age/level sessions. Private lessons require 24-hour notice for one monthly makeup opportunity.
Can parents observe dance classes?
Parents may view classes through observation windows. Fully enrolled families receive live-stream access through our parent portal system.
