The Burch School of Music is a family-oriented institution dedicated to providing high-quality music education in Weatherford, Texas, and serving students from Parker, Tarrant, and Palo Pinto Counties. Established 24 years ago, we have a rich history of fostering a love for music in young hearts and nurturing talent within a supportive and encouraging environment.
Our mission is to empower students of all ages and skill levels to explore the transformative world of piano. Whether they are just starting their musical journey as beginners or seeking to refine their skills as advanced pianists, we provide an individualized approach that meets each student's unique needs and aspirations.
Our Instructors
The Burch School of Music is fortunate to have a team of dedicated and experienced instructors, all possessing a genuine passion for music and a commitment to excellence.
Dr. Holly Hughes, founder of the school, is a Doctor of Musical Arts in Chamber Music Performance and Accompanying from Ball State University. A former tenured Associate Professor at the University of Florida, Dr. Hughes brings years of academic expertise and a wealth of performance experience to her teaching. Russell Hughes, Dr. Hughes' brother, holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Tech University. His musical proficiency and commitment to individualized instruction make him a valuable asset to our team. Steven Lent, a Bachelor of Music Education graduate from Texas Christian University, rounds out our faculty with his enthusiasm for sharing his musical knowledge and fostering students' love for piano.
Our Facilities
The Burch School of Music provides a welcoming and conducive learning environment for our students. Our spacious studios, equipped with both grand and upright pianos, offer a comfortable and inspiring space for practicing and performing. We also have a state-of-the-art digital piano studio, which allows students to access a variety of learning tools and resources, including the ability to collaborate with peers in group lessons.
Our Curriculum
Our comprehensive piano curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of students of all ages and levels. Young learners (ages 6-18) develop a strong foundation in music theory, ear training, and performance skills, building a solid understanding of musical concepts. Adult students can explore the joy of learning piano from the ground up or hone their existing talents, pursuing their musical interests at their own pace.
Opportunities for students to showcase their progress and talents are abundant at The Burch School of Music. Regular recitals and participation in local and state music competitions allow students to gain valuable performance experience and celebrate their achievements.
