Welcome to Hausmann Music Studio, a place where singing and music thrive. Our studio is led by Julie Hausmann, a professional mezzo-soprano vocalist with over two decades of experience in both teaching and performing. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and tailored learning environment for beginning and advanced students of singing.

Julie's expertise lies in her ability to create an individualized and healthy approach for each student, focusing on vocal technique, song interpretation, diction, staging, and performance. She specializes in classical vocal training but offers lessons in a variety of styles, including Classical, Broadway, Contemporary, and Jazz music. With over 20 years of singing experience, Julie has developed a profound understanding of the voice and its capabilities, enabling her to teach students of all ages and voice parts.

Voice Lessons

At Hausmann Music Studio, we offer private vocal instruction for students of all ages and voice parts. Our lessons are designed to meet the unique needs and goals of each student, whether they are just starting or are advanced singers. During your lesson, you will receive comprehensive vocal training, including technique, interpretation, diction, staging, and performance.

We believe that vocal health is crucial for every singer, and Julie specializes in creating a healthy and sustainable approach for each student. She works closely with each student to develop proper breath support, alignment, and resonance, ensuring that they have the tools they need to sing safely and effectively.

Lessons are scheduled once per week for 30 or 60 minutes, and all students are expected to come prepared with their music, a pencil, and a blank cassette or digital voice recorder to record their lesson. Regular attendance is essential for growth as a singer, and if a student knows they will need to miss a lesson, they are asked to let us know as soon as possible.

Rates

Our rates are as follows:

• 30 Minute Lessons: $35.00
• 60 Minute Lessons: $70.00

We offer monthly and weekly payment options, and payment is expected prior to or at the time of the lesson. We accept cash and checks as forms of payment.

Lesson Policies

At Hausmann Music Studio, we have a few policies that we ask our students to adhere to:

• Students are expected to come to each lesson with their music prepared.
• Please remember to bring a pencil and a blank cassette or digital voice recorder to record the lesson.
• Regular attendance at your weekly lesson is important for your growth as a singer.
• If you know that you will need to miss a specific lesson during a month, please let us know as soon as possible.
• If you need to cancel a scheduled lesson, for any reason, we ask for 48 hours notice via phone or email. Make-up lessons will be rescheduled.

Biography

Mezzo-soprano Julie Hausmann holds a degree in music and theater from Smith College, and a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Boston University's College of Fine Arts. She has spent a year researching German arts management and funding at the Stuttgart State Opera as the recipient of an Alexander von Humboldt German Chancellor Fellowship.

Julie has made her solo debut with the Boston Pops singing the final movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony under the direction of Maestro Keith Lockhart. She has performed with numerous choral groups, including the Springfield (Massachusetts) Symphony Chorus and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and has sung under the batons of internationally acclaimed conductors James Levine, Michael TilsonThomas, Sir Colin Davis, and Bernard Haitink.

Her stage experience includes roles with the College Light Opera Company on Cape Cod, the Boston University Opera Theater, and the New England Conservatory Opera Workshop. She has recorded for the Discovery Channel and can be heard singing with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus on the Boston Pops' "America" CD recording and the recently released "Boston Pops Christmas" CD.

Julie's passion for singing and teaching is evident in her work, and she is committed to providing her students with the tools and knowledge they need to become confident and skilled singers.
